João Canavilhas of Universidade da Beira Interior (Portugal) presented his paper “Hypertext Newswriting Effects on Satisfaction, Comprehension and Attitudes”.
Instead of the typical inverted pyramid, Canavilhas proposed a ‘Tumble Pyramid’ consisting of a Base unit, explanation level, contextualization level and the exploration level. He empahasized that the important person is the reader not the journalist, and that information should be published immediately.
